“Many people were amazed that it was free, with no strings attached,” writes local Help-Portrait Event Director Nigel Wiggins, including one special moment: “A 12-year-old girl saved for two years to buy a puppy and wanted a photo with her new dog.”
Nigel notes that at their event Centro Lounge in Eastbourne, UK, the “line between volunteers and subjects was blurred.” Here he shares a few of faces of the day:
“Sara – A bundle of energy and our youngest volunteer who baked, cleaned, decorated and kept everyone entertained.”
“My daughters gave up their whole day to help set up, register and welcome people.”
“Daniela – one of many international subjects who we welcomed to our event.”
